Dehradun Graduates Achieve ₹50 Lakh Sales in 2 Months via Organic College Admission Marketing

Shivank Yadav, a BCA IoT graduate from UPES, Dehradun, and Akash, an Animation graduate from ITM, Dehradun, have redefined college admission marketing with their startup, Admission Saarthi. Within just two months of its launch, the duo generated ₹50 lakhs in sales without external funding, establishing themselves as trailblazers in the field.

The idea for Admission Saarthi was born from their own college experiences, where they played pivotal roles in driving admissions for their respective universities. Realizing the challenges students face in finding the right institutions, they formalized their efforts and launched the platform in early 2024. With assistance from Abhishek, a fellow BCA student at UPES who developed their website in just four days, the startup quickly gained traction.

Student-First Philosophy

At its core, Admission Saarthi prioritizes students. The platform charges no consultancy fees and offers perks like cashback of up to ₹20,000, paid internships worth ₹10,000, and freelancing opportunities, making higher education accessible and rewarding. Its motto, “Safar Admission Pehle Bhi, Aur Baad Tak,” reflects its commitment to supporting students throughout their academic and professional journeys.

Challenges and Lessons Learned

Launching a startup as a recent graduate was not without hurdles. Convincing universities to trust their capabilities required persistence. Additionally, their initial strategy of purchasing lead databases proved ineffective due to outdated and inaccurate data. However, this setback led them to develop an in-house system for generating quality leads, ensuring reliability and independence from external vendors.

Achievements and Collaborations

Despite these challenges, Admission Saarthi partnered with 8-10 universities offering diverse programs, including B.Tech AIML, BBA, and LLB. They also built informal ties with five additional institutions in Dehradun. Their efforts have helped hundreds of students, including those with average academic records, secure admissions and career opportunities tailored to their skills.
